ElderSafe is committed to ensuring that personal information about clients, employees and key partners is collected, stored, retained and disclosed in a manner that inspires confidence and safeguards confidentiality. We adhere to the following ten principals of privacy as outlined in the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act: accountability; identifying purpose; consent; limiting collection, limiting use, disclosure and retention; accuracy; safeguards; openness; individual access; and challenging compliance.

The Company collects personal, medical, care plan, emergency contact and other information that we feel is necessary to provide ongoing support services and emergency response when required for clients. The Company also collects employee information.

The information is collected by the Company representative at the time when the initial service arrangements are made with clients. It is also updated by Company personnel from time to time to ensure accuracy and to reflect any changes in the clients’ conditions or service requirements. Employee information is collected during the hiring process and from time to time during the period of employment.

The information collected is used to ensure that appropriate care is provided and that we have the necessary information on file to be able to respond in an emergency situation. Employee information is used for human resource purposes.

The information collected is kept on Company computers or secure servers.

Security is ensured by limiting the access to the data to authorized personnel only.

Only Company personnel have access to the data on a need to know basis. Occasionally pertinent data is shared with medical personnel or family members who are directly involved in the care of the client.

Personal information will not be used or disclosed for purposes other than those for which it was collected, except with the consent of the individual or as required by law. We will only retain personal information as long as necessary for the fulfillment of those purposes.

If a client or employee has any questions on the Company Privacy Policy or wishes to see their data they can contact the President of ElderSafe Support Services Ltd. who is the Privacy Officer for the Company.
